WESLEY BWAMBALE

Born in 1994 in the rift valley border town of Kasese, Wesely Bwambale developed an early love for drawing, inspired by his surroundings and the influential women in his life. He honed his craft at Michelangelo College of Creative Arts in Entebbe, deepening his skills in drawing, colour, and oil painting.

Bwambale’s work is instantly recognizable for its vivid facial detail, smooth brushwork, and evocative expressions. His oil on canvas portraits often center on themes of memory, identity, beauty, and the quiet resilience of everyday life.

Grounded in his Ugandan roots, his compositions beautifully aesthetics balance traditional with contemporary influences, resulting in images that are both intimate and universal. Though “My Home, My Pride” marks his debut physical exhibition in Uganda, Bwambale has already garnered international recognition.

His work has been exhibited and collected in Europe, Australia, and the United States. He made his first international appearance at “Familiar Relationships” (TAAG Gallery, 2022) and has since participated in prestigious including:

• 2025 – Beyond Borders: Pan African Voices in Contemporary Art, TAAG Gallery

In “My Home, My Pride,” Bwambale teams up with old school friend Ronald Mugabe to reflect on personal and collective pride in place, memory, and the stories that shape us, inviting viewers to connect with their rich narratives.
