“IDENTITY AND SPIRITUALITY” is the
upcoming solo exhibition by Ugandan visual
artist Jjuuko Hoods. Jjuuko dives deep into
the intersections of spirituality and culture and
the meaning they bring to life. His collection
showcases African ethnic masks as an important
link to traditions and the spiritual realm.
In his recent works, Hoods incorporates
bark cloth, a significant cultural material,
collaged and stitched with other textures,
creating an undeniably beautiful employment
of mixed media.
This innovative approach
highlights material culture and offers an
intricate, fresh perspective on mixed media
art. His masterful blending of materials
presents an extraordinary narrative that
redefines the boundaries of contemporary art.
The exhibition promises a profound journey
into the Jjuuko’s exploration of culture and
spirituality.
