Edward Kamugisha Ssajjabbi is a Ugandan contemporary artist and art lecturer, born and based in the hilly areas of  South-Western Uganda-Kabale town. At 12 years Ssajjabbi knew he would become an artist as he mixed different flowers to get colour to paint thereby showcasing his work at his father's bar

During his secondary school days, Edward operated an art studio in his hometown where he earned  money. Due to less concentration on his studies he failed to join University. He was admitted to the National Teacher's College Kabale where he attained a diploma in Education majoring in Fine Art in 1995.  

In 2009, Ssajjabbi joined Uganda Christian University and graduated with a first class degree in Fine Art after which he worked as a lecturer at  Bishop Barham University, Kabale. Edward holds a Master's Degree in Art and Industrial Design from Kyambogo University.

His work has been widely exhibited in joint and solo exhibitions throughout the world including USA, China, Senegal among others. He has also attended the National Council For Higher Education (NCHE) at Lugogo Show grounds in Uganda and Dar-es-Salaam,  Tanzania.  Ssajjabbi recently attended the 8th Beijing International Bienniale and was the only Ugandan Representative Artist whose work ended up being selected among other artists' work to be featured in the Events Exhibition Catalogue.
